 India's annual need for total zinc metal : 660 kT
 India's Zinc production capacity : 880 kT
  => 220 kT surplus in domestic production
  => India a net-exporter of Zinc in the global markets.

 Hindustan Zinc delivered around 480 kT of Zinc, with the remaining need, surpassing 200 kT, met by imports.

 fiscal year 2019-20, the mines produced a total of 14.5 million metric tons of ore, with the Zawar mines contributing 3.271 million metric tons to this total.
 The mined metal production from Zawar for that year included 72,000 tonnes of zinc and 54,000 tonnes of lead. 
 This marked a substantial increase from the previous year, where Zawar mines had produced 2.865 million metric tons of ore, yielding 55,000 tonnes of zinc and 45,000 tonnes of lead​.
